They’ve been with me for the past six years. I can easily spot the signs when an old hammie’s time is running out — even ‘un-sick’ ones.
Nauna pa nga si Berio sa kuya nya.
Etymology of name: father’s name
Color: banded brown
Parentage: Berio + Mochahontas
Generation: 5th (paternal line) ; 6th (maternal line)
Litter group: Boolagang. The posthumous sons and daughters born to Mochahontas, 11 days after her husband Berio passed away.
Girlfriend/Spouse: Doray daga
Lifespan: 29 months 5 days
Cause of death: Old age
Mocha bridge: Boolaboy Berio’s first traverse.
Traits and characteristics: Sleeps late than his brother Bebong II. During active hours, Berio II prefers exploring the world outside the cage over receiving a treat. When given a food, his brother hoards it; Berio II takes a nibble or two, then ignores it. The two brothers shared cage and food, trod wheel peacefully and harmoniously together for more than two years.
The brothers could have shared these things much longer if Bebong didn’t get a hamster stroke during the completion of the bridge. ‘Healthier’ than his big brother he might be, Berio was the first to leave their company for good.
