( the storyteller )
Hello… my name is Robert, a homebody… a husband. (“housebound?”)
I am a caregiver to a family of (more or less) 12 hamsters. They also have a nanny whom I lovingly call “Choi my wife”. This blog tells more of our cute little teddies than about me or my wife.
Though I have been keeping hamsters as pets for since quite a long time now, and started taking down a private journal or “chronicles” of them — in words or in images — since 2003, it never occurred to me the possibility of storing and sharing these records via the internet. I am completely ignorant about webpaging and blogging. In fact it was only in August 2007 that I first tried surfing the internet (kung hindi pa nagpa-install si misis ng linya ng telepono!); I knew the concept of the internet way back in 1996, but I was not able to put that into practice. Kasi masyado akong workaholic noon, and I didn’t put ‘interneting’ among my top priorities. Naghahapit tuloy ako ngayon… And now I was so really surprised to know that there are a lot of people out there across the cyberspace who are doing such “odd-hammie-things” like I do!
I am really enlightened… You see, I and my hamsters have one thing in common — for us, nothing beats the smell of our own homes, except for occasional cases of “lakwatsa”. Isn’t it delightful for a guy like me to visit somebody else’s “home” without living his own home?
What else can I say? `am really excited, maski na nga ba naka- dial-up connection pa lang ako. Welcome to my blog… and feel at home!!!
